Meet Our Staff and Volunteers

Rev. Warner Bloomfield

Minister
E-mail Rev. Warner Bloomfield

Warner joined the congregation of Grace United Church in September of 2016, moving, along with his partner Ellie, from Northwestern Ontario, where he served St. Andrew’s United Church in Sioux Lookout. Ordained in 2012, he is a graduate of St. Andrew’s College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Ellie and Warner are both voracious readers who also love live theatre. They have two daughters; Abigail, a student at Brock University and Elizabeth who attends McMaster University.

Warner has BAs in History and Dramatic Arts from McMaster and worked for his hometown newspaper for two decades before following his call to ministry.

For Warner faith is best expressed in and through community. Gathering together to worship and learn with those who will support you, challenge you and encourage you so that we all may realize the great potential God sees for all of creation.

Jeannine VanderBeek

Secretary
E-mail Jeannine VanderBeek

“Grace United Church in Dunnville feels like coming home.” Back when her last name was Segui, Jeannine remembers attending Sunday School classes in the Annex, which used to sit where the parking lot is today. Before moving to part time office hours years ago as a Church Administrator in Grimsby, Jeannine was the Business Manager in a Long-Term Care home. With deep family and friends roots in Dunnville, it has been an easy transition commuting here from her home in Smithville, where she is a volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada and FORT (The Foundation of Resources for Teens). You’ll always find her in your arena at Mudcat home games when they play the Grimsby Peach Kings.

The office hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am – 2pm.

You can reach the secretary by email or by phone: 905-774-4504.

Gail Squires

Music Director
E-mail Gail Squires

Gail has been a musician all of her life as a performer, composer, and teacher. Retired from teaching school,  she continues with her music students. At the church as music director,  she directs the choir, plays the piano for part of the service, and arranges for soloists, choral groups, or bands, to provide meaningful ministries of music.

Silken Ricker

Church Organist

Silken grew up taking piano piano lessons. A children’s message about the organ from the former organist at South Cayuga, caught the young musician’s interest. Silken began playing the organ at South Cayuga Community Church sitting beside the organist. Her feet couldn’t even touch the pedals!

Years later, Silken continues to take pipe organ lessons from a skilled musician and absolutely loves it. Silken currently plays the 2 manual Casavant organ at Grace United Dunnville and surrounding churches.
Silken has also played the piano/organ at weddings, funerals and special events.

Outside of church, Silken is a recreation therapist full time and takes pride in what she does. Silken has a passion for connecting with people and enjoys in sharing her music with those around her.
