As we enter a new year, we’re excited to share how Broadview continues to inform, inspire, and spark meaningful change — through in-depth reporting, thought-provoking conversations, and stories that drive action for good. And it’s all possible because of your support!
Here’s What’s Ahead in Q1 of 2025:
📌 Expanding Solutions Journalism
We’re committed to not only reporting on the world’s challenges but also highlighting those working toward positive change. Many of our upcoming features will focus on solutions, including our March 2025 cover story on homelessness and the advocates making a difference.
📌 United Church Centennial Keepsake Issue
Our June issue will celebrate the United Church’s 100th anniversary with a special keepsake edition.
(Learn more here) For the first time, churches can pre-order extra copies—print or digital—for anniversary celebrations, confirmands, newcomers or those unable to attend services. PRE-ORDER THE KEEPSAKE ISSUE
We also invite you to celebrate the legacy of those who made a difference—whether in your local congregation or through leadership in the wider church—by making an online donation in their memory before March 15. Their names will be published in this historic keepsake issue in honour of their devotion and service. HONOUR A DIFFERENCE MAKER
📌 Adding More Joy!
You asked for lighter moments, and we listened! Expect more humour and heart, from “Naked Pastor” cartoons to a light-hearted feature on downsizing in our April-May issue—and even a crossword puzzle in June.
📌 Strengthening Our Foundation
To serve you better, we’re upgrading our circulation and fundraising databases and restructuring our team to enhance support for our readers and donors.
📌 New Partnerships in the Works
We’re forging meaningful collaborations, including co-sponsoring Here from the Beginning, a Black History Month exhibition (virtual and in-person) exploring the United Church’s history through Black perspectives, launching this summer. Stay tuned — more partnerships to come!
In these challenging times, the need for truth-telling, amplifying marginalized voices, and sharing spiritually grounded stories has never been greater. Thanks to your generosity, prayers, and encouragement, we continue this vital work.
Together, we can build a more compassionate and just future.
